User Interface: Virtual Reality

About VR Mode

To access Virtual Reality, click on the view menu in the top bar and select the Virtual Reality icon.

 Agent DVR VR View

🕶️ VR mode in Agent DVR utilizes the views configured in live mode to arrange cameras in a Virtual Reality or 3D environment. To see cameras in VR, you need to configure at least one view in the live viewer. The VR viewer uses the same views as the live viewer.

Using Virtual Reality

If you have a compatible VR device, the UI offers an immersive VR mode. In this mode, use your controller to teleport around the environment.

🎯 To select a camera, point at it with your controller and click the trigger. To move a camera, click again and hold the trigger while positioning it, then release to fix it in place.

🔲 If your VR setup lacks a clickable button, use the Spacebar instead.

✋ To show/hide the control panel, use the Squeeze control or press Enter.

Using Mouse and Keyboard

Use the Arrow Keys to navigate and the mouse to look around. A blue dot appears when you can interact with a control. Use it to select, move, and interact with devices and controls.

Press the Spacebar to interact with devices and controls.

To show/hide the control panel, press Enter.

Using the Control Panel

🎛️ When a device is selected, it displays on the main screen (if your view layout has a main area). Use the control panel for power, recording, and manual alerts, along with PTZ and zoom controls. Press Enter to toggle the control panel's visibility.

Cycle through configured views with the angle controls. Views appear only if they have devices set.

A red marker in the top right corner signifies recording, and a red border indicates an alert.

Notes

VR mode requires an SSL connection, so it's available only via the iSpyConnect web portal.

To use with HTC Vive, Firefox or Chrome v87+ (like Chrome Canary) is recommended. If using Chrome, ensure the latest version of Steam VR is running. On the latest version of Firefox, go to about:config and set dom.vr.enabled to true for VR support.

Mobile support requires Android O+ and varies on iOS depending on specific OS/hardware versions.

👓 VR mode has been tested on the Vive and Google Cardboard. If you've successfully used it on other devices, please let us know.
